The mission of the 172nd Operations Group is to train and supply mission ready tactical airlift and aero-medical aircrews for state, national and global contingencies. Included with the lethality of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, the group hosts an array of aircrew members, as well as flight doctors, nurses and medical administrative staff who can fly at a moments notice in support of state and federal missions. Subordinate units include:
