The 172d Civil Engineer Squadron develops, deploys, and sustains expeditionary Airmen engineers; protects, preserve and improve facilities and infrastructure; and delivers world-class emergency response services and resource management.

The 172d Civil Engineers provide support to base units and personnel, to include; fire and crash response, airfield/facility/utility operations and maintenance, project programming/design/construction, environmental services, disaster preparedness, and explosive ordnance disposal. In addition to the peacetime requirements, the Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (BEEF) mobility team stands ready to deploy when called to do so anywhere in the world in a short period of time.
